Besides the products produced at its headquarters in Germany, Novamelt as of March 2006 started production of its hot melt pressure sensitive adhesives in North America.

The US facility is a co-operation with the family owned company Jowat AG from Detmold in Germany. Jowat is a market leading producer of industrial adhesives, solvent based, water based and hotmelt adhesives for product assembly applications. Their product range is mainly used in the woodworking, paper, packaging, textile and automotive industries. The Jowat group employs more than 600 employees and recorded a total turnover of over 140 million Euro in 2005.

Together both companies have founded a joint-venture, Novamelt-Jowat LLC which is located in High Point-North Carolina. Novamelt holds 51% of the total shares.

Similar to its German HQ, the North Carolina facility has a full ‘onsite’ technical service centre which includes a testing and development laboratories along with in house purpose built lab-coater. This helps customers to evaluate fully any number of products for their application suitability.

The combining of Novamelt’s strength as a leading and innovative manufacturer of environmentally friendly pressure sensitive adhesives and Jowat’s 30 years of experience in the US market combines to give a dynamic win-win situation for the benefit of the American customers in the coating sector.
